About SWS
SouthWestSensor Ltd. (‘SWS’) is an exciting Southampton based high-tech company backed by a global water technology platform provider (Skion Water). SWS is commercialising advanced chemical sensor products for pollutant monitoring applications in the water industry including for environmental applications.
We are looking for a talented energetic After-Sales Support Executive to join us, ideally with experience of technical sales or technical after-sales support in the water industry. Alternatively, we are encouraging enthusiastic graduates to apply, but only with relevant environmental, water or sensor related studies and interests. Responsibilities
The After-Sales Support Executive will execute day-to-day customer support activities aimed at customer retention and to generate repeat business. As guided by the CEO, key activities include the following:
§ Maintaining & supporting existing customer accounts
§ After-sales support and whole-cycle product management including:
o On-site customer visits for initial sensor set-up
o Customer check-ins and video calls
o Prompt response to customer queries
o Manage timely resupply of replacement sensor reagents and filters
o Manage return-to-factory sensor conditioning after 2 years
o Manage product upgrades at end of product life cycle
§ Manage internal sensor deployments as well as external pilots aimed at producing deployment data and case studies, key for promoting the new technology
§ Provide regular internal updates on customers and deployments
§ Keep up-to-date with in-house technological product advances, Quality Management System, and commercial strategic decisions to ensure aligned after-sales support and deployment activities
§ Gather & communicate customer requirements to inform development efforts and provide feed-back on price tolerance, product performance and new emerging requirements impacting future product design
§ Seek regular product training and keep on top of technical, regulatory & commercial trends in the water quality and environmental monitoring space
§ Conduct product demonstrations and live training sessions with existing and prospective customers
§ Assist in producing marketing & promotional material including deployment notes and case studies
§ Participate in conferences, exhibitions and panel discussions to present SWS products & services
§ Enhance the reputation and profile of SWS through promotional brand development activities
Must haves:
§ A University degree in a technical of scientific subject or demonstrated experience in a similar role
§ Experience of sales or after-sales support roles (unless suitable graduate)
§ Demonstrated customer focus coupled with strong business & commercial acumen
§ Highly motivated with drive to self-improvement
§ Highly organised with focus on delivery against targets
§ Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills - technically & personally credible communicator, influencer & networker
§ Driver’s license and willingness to travel
Desirable:
§ Experience in the environmental and water quality industry or demonstrated exceptional sales or after-sales support ability in relatable sector
§ Experience in selling sensor or other high-tech instrumentation
§ Experience using CRM software
§ Existing customer contacts in water / instrumentation / sensing segments
Remuneration:
The Company will pay a highly competitive salary in line with the candidate’s relevant experience. A company pension is also in place.
Holidays:
The standard full-time holiday allowance is 23 days annual leave plus public holidays.
Hours of work:
The role is expected to be full-time, but we are flexible accommodating suitably talented individuals and would also entertain part-time employment. The company will consider flexible and partially remote working patterns within the operational requirements of the role. Considerable travel expected including customer visits, deployment support and attendance of external events.
